The course intentions are to equip you with the trimming skills so that when you return to your farm you can trim using the 5 step Dutch method, acquire the correct tools and maintain them, apply blocks correctly and where necessary and deal with individual lameness problems as they occur on your farm.

 

Diseases and lameness conditions will be covered during an initial short lecture programme and then practically during the trimming sessions on farm.

 

After trimming about 500 feet it is advisable to come back for a 'Check Day' where our tutors will check your technique and assist with development.
