Farm Practice

A farm practice has existed at Hartford since the 1930’s. In those days the client base was limited to a 10 mile radius of Northwich.  Today’s 8-man farm team covers all of Cheshire and many farming enterprises within a 40 miles radius extending into Shropshire, Staffordshire and Lancashire.  The accent is still very much on dairy farming but beef, suckler cow, sheep and pig work are still important.  Our in house laboratory is kept busy with samples from all species. 

Our dispensing pharmacies at Hartford and Beeston are available to all farm clients.

With years of experience and a host of qualifications and interests, whatever the farm animal, we have experienced staff to deal with the problems.  Coordinated from the Hartford headquarters we provide a 24hr personal emergency service complemented with routine farm fertility visits.  Annual Herd health planning is also a crucial part of UK farming today.

DEFRA keep us busy in assisting in the UK drive to control and hopefully eradicate Bovine TB. 

Meat Hygiene Services are provided to many local abattoirs and meat processing plants.  As employees of the Meat Hygiene service UK, we help to ensure the highest standards of locally produced food.
