At the beginning of their lives puppies and kittens need vaccinations to help protect them against some of the common life threatening diseases they may come into contact with. After this initial vaccination course they should have a booster each year to maintain this protection. We really feel that it is important to keep your pets up to date with their boosters.
If your pet has missed their annual booster they will need to start the full vaccination course again.
We feel so strongly about this that we have taken the decision to have an all year round Vaccination Amnesty. Many vets will have a periodic amnesty once a year as a marketing campaign but we feel that this issue is so important that you can re-start your pets vaccinations at any time and just pay for the cost of a booster.
The initial vaccination course for dogs will vaccinate against Parvovirus, Leptospirosis, Distemper, Hepatitis and Parainfluenza.
The initial vaccination course for cats will vaccinate against feline leukemia, enteritis and herpes
When we give a booster or vaccination course our vets will also give your pet a health check. This is a bonus of having an annual booster - sometimes we can pick up on conditions early when they are easier to treat.
